By using our services, you agree to our Terms and Conditions. These also comprise our Conditions of Carriage, under which all carriers operate. As a member of the Freight Transport Association (FTA), our conditions of carriage are based on the FTA’s examples. Please note that our network’s have different Conditions of Carriage in place so you will be bound to those terms of business.
Goods in Transit Insurance
Goods in Transit Insurance is the insurance in place to cover the risk of items being lost or damage whilst in transit. In the rare event of loss or damage, our liability is limited according to the weight of the consignment. This amount varies depending on the network being used. The standard cover levels are:
DX Freight £1.50 per kilo (RHA 2009)
Palletways £1.30 per kilo (RHA 2020)
Palletforce £5.00 per kilo (RHA 2009)
Please note however that uplifted levels of cover are available - please speak to us.
If the items you ship with us are high in value and low in weight, goods in transit insurance may not cover you to your expected level. It is always the consignor's responsibility to insure against risk. If the value of your item(s) exceeds the insured level then please contact us for advice. We may be able to arrange an uplift in the level of cover at a surcharge.
